No game plan?

At this point I just sound like a broken record because this is the story of the Blues’ season. The way we play is have 11 players on the pitch and let them do whatever they please, similar to letting the dogs out and do what they want out on the grass. There’s no focal point and nothing seems to be planned in order to be executed.

The goals by Taiwo Awoniyi against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon revealed exactly what Chelsea was lacking. Both of the balls into the box appeared to have a good chance of going in, but Awoniyi took advantage of his size and instinct to pounce and score goals for his team that no Chelsea player could have.

In fairness, Raheem Sterling was able to demonstrate his skill in front of goal, but the Blues never seemed to have enough players in the box, as evidenced by the numerous crosses they made that did not threaten the away defenders. The balls in appeared to aim almost at random. The way Forest were able to defend as a unit whether it’s from open play or from a set piece was great, same can’t be said for Chels’ unfortunately and had to pay the price especially for the second Forest goal.
