Chelsea-bound Mauricio Pochettino will be in the dugout for an upcoming charity game. The former Tottenham Hotspur head coach will be one of the Soccer Aid bosses as he takes charge of the World XI team.

Nobody knows exactly when the Argentine will be managing the Blues, expect possibly Pochettino himself. He appears to be conducting his own business without an agent etcetera, so that’s been an interesting factor to hear about. Media speculation claimed that we would hear an announcement last week; expectations subsequently rolled into this week for ‘Poch’s’ arrival at Stamford Bridge.

However, the announcement of the ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss as the new Blues gaffer has not materialised at the time of writing. Although, there was a rather fascinating but probably unlinked bulletin: the former Paris Saint-Germain man will manage the World XI side at Soccer Aid. Incidentally, tickets for the popular event – a great cause raising money for UNICEF – are on sale at present. Prices begin at £10 for children, while adults pay £20. It takes place at Old Trafford on June 11. Actor Martin Compston and onetime Spurs striker Robbie Keane will be among Pochettino’s staff members. The legendary Gabriel Batistuta should be among the starters.

Don’t worry, this wasn’t just click bait, Mauricio Pochettino is expected at Chelsea soon

Supposedly, the 51-year-old is merely awaiting the ‘green light’ from his own lawyer following negotiations with Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and/or whoever sorts out major business for the Blues these days. Nonetheless, Poch might perhaps takeover at Chels‘ by the time the friendly fixture occurs next month.

CFC has offered the Murphy, Santa Fe-born man a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge. Only formalities remain before completion. Pochettino is said to be keen to talk to current interim gaffer Frank Lampard before formally beginning his own tenure.
