Chelsea finally announce new manager with team about to get serious
Chelsea Football Club have finally announced the appointment of a new permanent manager. The team will get serious now that Mauricio Pochettino is in place at Stamford Bridge.
For some reason, CFC’s press release says Pochettino will become the head coach from the beginning of the 2023/24 season, when this preseason is one of if not the most important in the outfit’s history. There is a real need for a person of Pochettino’s capability on Fulham Road at present. The entire squad requires a big shake-up; some ‘footballers’ need to be gotten rid of from the Blues’ books. And, vitally, the correct personnel must be acquired and kept while accounts are sufficiently balanced for Financial Fair Play reasons, etcetera.
Of course, the ChelseaFC.com article later confirms that the respected Argentine boss will take charge on July 1. He joins on a two-year contract; there is a stipulation within the agreement that the club has the option of a further year. Chels’ are hopeful that the latest gaffer will bring a ‘high-energy and eye-catching’ style or approach to the Blues side. In addition to that, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain chief’s ‘reputation for helping young players’ to blossom on a competitive roster is also noted in the statement. Sebastiano Pochettino, Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino and Toni Jimenez are the boss’s staff. Sebastiano is, of course, Mauricio Pochettino’s eldest son.
Noni Madueke is one of Chelsea’s season’s few bright aspects – he talks improvement at the Bridge
Madueke is one star that ‘Poch’ should preserve with. I admire the way the winger conducts himself with and without the ball, and believe that he has the capacity to put up decent numbers in the Premier League.
The Englishman hailed a ‘good team performance’ by the the west Londoners after drawing with Newcastle United on Sunday. We haven’t seen many solid displays all season! There’s more from Madueke here.
