Kai Havertz, No. 29, Center forward, Germany

If you have strong opinions about Havertz on this list, as many have had this season on several social media platforms, consider that Romelu Lukaku is on loan at Inter, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was ostracized by Graham Potter and the later Frank Lampard, David Datro Fofana is more of an inside forward than a striker (an has played like 15 minutes all season), and Armando Broja has played less than 500 minutes all season. There was only one player for this position in this list, and he happens to be Chelsea’s highest goal scorer in the league this season with seven goals while creating the joint third-highest five big chances for the Blues. In the Champions League he scored two goals and created three big chances.

Mason Mount, No. 19, Right winger, England

There were not many options, in fact, there was only one. All the other possible right winger options did not meet the “minutes played” requirement. The one who comes closest to meeting the requirement, without meeting it, is Joao Felix. Despite this, Mount still outperforms Felix on a total and per 90-minute basis in many areas including, expected assists, key passes, crosses into the penalty area, shot-creating actions and goal-creating actions. In fact, according to Fbref, Mount has the most goal-creating actions of any Chelsea player this season and ranks third for goal-creating actions per 90. He also beats Felix in Shot-Creating Actions per 90 (3.11), which is an indictment on Felix, considering he leads the club in carries into the final third per 90 (3.81).
