PSG star Neymar may look to leave Paris this summer and has Chelsea have opened talks with the Brazilian over a possible move. However, the Selecao star is still reliving his glory days in Barcelona and is eyeing a possible return to the Blaugrana.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly wants to make a statement signing this summer and bringing in a footballer as talented as Neymar, who is simply one of the world’s best, will send out a huge message, that CFC mean business. Bringing in Neymar will certainly bring a new marketable face to the club.

Even Manchester United are interested in signing the Brazilian. Incoming CFC manager, Mauricio Pochettino, worked with Neymar at PSG and knows him well. The former Tottenham Hotspur coach is an admirer of Neymar and can make the deal work. From the outside, it definitely looks like a chaotic deal, but the immensely talented footballer could turn Chelsea into an elite side if the cards are played right.

Chelsea target Neymar open to Barcelona return after Lionel Messi failure

CFC will bid farewell to the likes of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, so bringing in a new winger does seem to be an attractive idea. Chelsea have opened talks with his agents over a possible transfer but another report does put a transfer to Stamford Bridge in jeopardy.

According to the Spanish publication Sport, Neymar has been offered to Barcelona after the Spanish club failed to bring in Lionel Messi this summer. Messi was pushing to return to Blaugrana but the return was complicated and the Argentinian decided to sign for Inter Miami. With the failure to bring Messi, Barcelona will now explore plan B and Neymar has offered himself to the Spanish giants.

However, Neymar’s return to Barcelona is just as complicated. His salary and the asking price set by PSG would be a stumbling block for Barca, given their financial troubles. Neymar is willing to make an effort to facilitate a return but it remains to be seen if the move is feasible on Barcelona’s side.

The 30 year old being offered to Barcelona does pose some threat to CFC as the Brazilian has a more intimate connection to Barca. However, CFC would be in a better position than Barcelona in offering a lucrative financial contract. He is valued at £60 million by Transfermarkt and if PSG are open to negotiations, a deal could be done in that price bracket.

Will CFC sign Neymar?
