2. Three major first team players to be sold in the coming days:

The dismal Blues term seems to have shown which players are up to the task of bringing Chelsea back to its former glory, and which ones are not. Three first team players, namely, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz, are expected to be sold before the end of June. Out of the trio, Kovacic is expected to be offloaded first as the Croatia international has refused to renew his contract. With only one year left, CFC have decided to sell the midfielder.

The 29-year-old is ready to accept a contract offer from Pep Guardiola’s treble-winning side while the clubs remain locked in negotiations over the transfer fee. An amount of around £30m could be received on Fulham Road. As for Mount, the England man has also decided not to sign another deal with the capital team, despite the incoming gaffer wanting the attack-minded footballer to be an integral part of his setup.

Chelsea value Mount at £70m but with only a year left on his agreement, the valuation seems a bit unrealistic being that Mount produced an underwhelming season. Manchester United’s first bid of £40m was declined, naturally. As the athlete prefers a move to the red half of Manchester, Chelsea are hoping for the bid to be increased. In the coming days, United would put in another offer but it would again be far short of the Blues’ valuation.

The same situation came up with Kai Havertz; with his reluctance to sign a new contract, the present time seems to be the best time to sell the German with two years left in his contract. A few days ago, Arsenal made an opening bid for the German which was rejected by the Blues. Chelsea value Havertz at £75m, although there’s a feeling a deal can be agreed for less than this figure.
