3. Chelsea preparing bids for Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson to kickstart the Pochettino era:

Chelsea are hoping to secure the first signings of the Pochettino era with the club having agreed personal terms with Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson. The 21-year-old, who has a £30m release clause, has committed to the west Londoners. Jackson represents a cheaper option than both Napoli star Victor Osimhen and Atalanta youngster Rasmus Hojlund, who remain of interest. Talks over signing Jackson remain ongoing as well as discussions for key midfield target Moises Caicedo as they share the same agent.

CFC also saw a £60m offer for the Brighton & Hove Albion star rejected two weeks ago. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, personal terms for Caicedo are on final details, 90-95 per cent finalised; a new bid is coming next week for Caicedo. Pochettino’s side admire the Ecuadorian but intend to be disciplined with their valuation. They are studying multiple alternatives to Caicedo, 21, including Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, 19, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone, 22, AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali, 23,  and Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, 26.
