Chelsea transfer roundup July 11 to July 19
4. Saudi clubs coming to Chelsea’s rescue:
With Chels‘ having a lot of deadwood to shift around during the current transfer window, it seems like the emergence of Saudi clubs can be the blessing in disguise for the outfit. It is reported that Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are all attracting concrete interest from a multiple of Saudi sides. Al-Hilal is pushing to sign Kalidou Koulibaly and Chelsea will get around £25m for the Senegalese international if the offer is accepted by the player.
Édouard Mendy has some proposals from French clubs, but the Saudis are trying to tempt him. For Hakim Ziyech, the agreement between Al Nassr and Chelsea is getting close, and they hope to complete it next week. Selling Aubameyang is looking like the most difficult because no deal is done as there are problems on personal terms and commission. Keeping all of this in mind, if the Blues pull off even three of these four outgoings, it would mean getting exorbitant wages off the books along with getting some transfer fees in which would help further transfer dealings. Confirmation of Christopher Nkunku’s arrival is wholly welcomed.
