Chelsea aim to hijack and sign two Liverpool transfer targets
Chelsea aim to hijack and sign two Liverpool transfer targets. Will the Blues secure Gabri Veiga and Nicolo Barella following the arrival of Christopher Nkunku?
Signing good players is always pleasing. But stealing signings from Premier League rivals is even better! It is claimed that Manchester United and CFC are attempting to do just that to the Reds.
According to reports, Jurgen Klopp’s team are ‘no longer favourites to acquire Gabri Veiga’. Secondly, Liverpool are also losing ground on Nicolo Barella with Chelsea deemed ahead in the chase.
Following a disastrous season, Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher wants to help the Blues to get ‘back where they belong’
I previously mentioned Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ben Chilwell and Benoit Badiashile as Chelsea players who can hold their collective heads relatively high after a torrid term. And Conor Gallagher arguably makes it a quartet who weren’t overly impressive yet didn’t exactly let the side down in 2022/23 either.
While Gallagher didn’t manage to replicate many of his well-taken and incredibly important goals during the first part of his Crystal Palace loan, he did show that he could be a crucial squad player to new head coach Mauricio Pochettino. However, the midfielder isn’t guaranteed a place in the Chels’ starting lineup under the latest gaffer. In fact, the England international might not actually be wanted by Pochettino at all, suggests this story.
Although, I believe that ‘Poch’ is wise and astute enough to see that Gallagher is an elite level athlete. The latter would be more than competent as a role asset and has the skill set and mentality to develop in the Premier League.
In addition to that, the Blues academy product seems to actually care about the plight of the west London club; Gallagher recently proclaimed his desire to remain at Stamford Bridge. But selling due to Financial Fair Play issues has potential to override Gallagher’s potential. Nevertheless, what he said is below:
"‘I’m a Chelsea player and I love Chelsea,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘It’s been a really tough season for me and the whole team and club. We’ll work as hard as we can to get Chelsea back to where they belong.’"
