Take a look at Chelsea’s leaked 2023/24 home and away shirts. Meanwhile, CFC owners have appointed a high profile boss at Strasbourg.

As the new season nears – incidentally, it doesn’t feel five minutes ago that the previous, disastrous campaign ended – fans are excited for everything new: players, manager etcetera. In addition to those elements, what the stars will be wearing on the pitch is always an important factor of any upcoming term as well. In keeping with modern, natural disorganisation and uncertainty at Stamford Bridge, Chels’ are yet to unveil their new strips for 2023/24. While some teams even played in their new threads for the respective final matches of 2022/23, Blues supporters are still in the dark. However, maybe the nice people At The Bridge Pod can help with the home shirt.

Above is a rather plain and strangely collared effort, though the piece does have potential. Minimalism in design is often the most aesthetically pleasing and satisfying. For a footballing example, think the Brazil National Team blueprint, or yellow print, known as the “canarinho (canary)”. The pearlescent and metallic badge could be a beautiful look if the top is amalgamated cleanly. Now for the away creation.

Above is a tweet from the traditional, most prolific and arguably definitive sports clothes leakers, Footy Headlines. The photograph purports to show the CFC away jersey for 2023/24. The Nike product is navy and blue and is supposedly inspired by the 2002-03 second kit, which ended exactly 20 years ago. In my opinion the ‘futuristic digital graphic’ look will take some getting used to; it will hopefully dazzle the opposition though.
