Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has promised that the Blues will acquire further quality signings to bolster an already decent squad.

According to chelseafc.com, there have been six significant incomings this summer so far. It’s increasingly harder to keep up with additions these days, especially with all the young talent arriving. The fresh faces are comprised of Nicolas Jackson, Alex Matos, Diego Moreira, Kendry Paez, Dujuan Richards and Christopher Nkunku.

And manager Pochettino just pleased Blues fans even more since his arrival. Poch says that the squad is actually quality, and that they’ll be adding more superior personnel soon.

Pundit predicts problems due to Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Kai Havertz sales

I am not particularly a fan of Paul Merson’s punditry. Though he was, of course, a magical footballer; I am just about old enough to have witnessed the end of his career. Being a former Arsenal player, he has been accused of favouring the Gunners over other London rivals. In addition to offering occasionally strange predictions.

This time Merson weighed in on a very difficult scenario to predict. He believes the transfers of Mason Mount to Manchester United and Kai Havertz to Arsenal represent poor CFC business. I mean, it is too early to tell, obviously. Mount is clearly more likely to succeed overall, in my opinion; if anyone can extract the best from a disappointing Havertz, it might be Mikel Arteta and his impressive AFC team. Along with this assessment, Merson is naturally simultaneously criticising Chels’.

However, the Sky Sports pundit also made the point that the Blues need reinforcements to challenge in the Premier League once again. Furthermore, he claimed that Harry Kane could make the difference at Stamford Bridge and that Pochettino should seek a reunion with the England captain. Now, I definitely agree with this statement wholeheartedly. Although, the 55-year-old’s suggestion that Kane makes Chelsea title contenders is wild at present, at best.
