According to a report, the longest-serving current Chelsea footballer could perhaps be on the verge of a transfer to a Championship club. Meanwhile a bid for Callum Hudson-Odoi has supposedly been declined by the Blues.

Ethan Ampadu hasn’t had much club joy as a full professional with much promise: he has only made a mere 11 appearances for CFC, and has been relegated three times whilst on loan. Those sides were Sheffield United, Venezia, and Spezia, if you’re interested in the footballing macabre.

Now the surprise longest-serving Chelsea player may be about to depart. Leeds United are apparently ‘closing in’ on Ampadu, which means he could be playing in the Championship next season.

Chelsea reject offer for unwanted winger Callum Hudson-Odoi

There have been many significant outgoings from Fulham Road this summer. Mason Mount leaving for Manchester United, Kai Havertz going to Arsenal are the two main examples. Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Christian Pulisic, Edouard Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kanté and César Azpilicueta were also departees.

Less well-known and more insignificant players have exited too: Abdul-Rahman Baba, David Datro Fofana (loan) and Tiemoué Bakayoko. Potentially important temporary duo João Félix and Denis Zakaria returned to their respective parent clubs too.

You can probably add long-time Chels’ backup man and loanee Callum Hudson-Odoi to the ever-growing list with his desire for a transfer away from the Bridge during this transfer window. Fulham were said to be in talks with their fellow west London side; Chels’ reportedly declined an opening bid for their utility wingman.

It is because Hudson-Odoi is into the final year of his current CFC contract that he is now pushing for regular first team football elsewhere. The player’s spell with Bayer Leverkusen was fairly unsuccessful overall. It appears as though new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino may not wish for the 22-year-old to stay with his evolving squad.
