Chelsea are reportedly attempting to make two more signings to strengthen the midfield/forward department. And the Blues may possibly inadvertently hijack two prospective Arsenal transfers in the process. I am sure that CFC fans won’t mind this speculation, especially when they hear the calibre of respective players linked. Mauricio Pochettino is cooking – and there are courses to come. The Pride of London talk Michael Olise and Mohammed Kudus.

The Chelsea preseason is going pretty much according to a meticulous-seeming Poch plan. The schedule has seen two friendly matches so far, in which the Blues were victorious on both occasions. The west London side scored an astonishing nine goals in those couple of games, too, which is massively promising following a misfiring 2022/23 campaign. Although five were put past lowly a Wrexham with lofty ambitions, Pochettino’s men managed four against Brighton & Hove Albion as well. A side note or caveat is obviously the Seagulls netting three versus the CFC defence and having a man dismissed.

And there is possibly more to come from Todd Boehly in this offseason, which has already been prosperous and more encouraging as the Blues monitor Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. He can also play in attacking central midfield and on the right of a more defensive-minded, cautious setup. I am not sure that Olise is quite the star that he is being touted as, nor that he can revolutionise the flailing Chels’ wing area. Nonetheless, he has that ‘je ne sais quoi’ along with some particularly perceptible and evocative qualities on the pitch.

Mohammed Kudus is the second man in demand for Chelsea and Arsenal

While Pochettino is apparently stepping on the Gunners’ toes for the 21-year-old, CFC are eyeing another of Mikel Arteta’s ostensible targets. Mohammed Kudus could be another arrival at Stamford Bridge soon; Football Insider sources claim that Chelsea are ‘close to an agreement‘ for the 22-year-old.
