Right Back: Malo Gusto (France)

Reece James joined the squad in the USA before Brighton and will look forward to getting a few minutes under his belt in the next game. Malo Gusto on the other hand hit the nail on the head with a top display pocketing the flamboyant Kaoru Mitoma which cleared off all doubts surrounding his defensive abilities.

Centre Back: Thiago Silva (Brazil)

After sitting the first game out, Silva was brought into the squad on the weekend. The veteran undoubtedly has a major role to play this season as well and will hope to build match fitness steadily.

Centre Back: Levi Colwill (England)

Pochettino put an end to all the speculation surrounding Colwill’s future. And it is up to him now to make the most of the situation and step up while Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are out injured.

Left Back: Ben Chilwell (England)

Marc Cucurella still seems to struggle with the same issues that directed all criticism towards him last season. Although majority of the fanbase believes that CFC could do without the Spaniard with Ian Maatsen providing backup to Ben Chilwell, Cucurella is likely to stay at the Bridge for another season.
