4. Levi Colwill
In only one preseason game Levi Colwill proved to be everything that he was expected to be. The U21 England international is the all-encompassing modern-day defender, boasting the ability to spark attacks with his passing from the back while still holding down the backline with solid defending. Given the recent hit to defender options, with injuries to Benoit Badiashille and Wesley Fofana, Colwill will likely be given the opportunity to start the game against Liverpool in the left center back role. In order to be fully fit, he needs to start this game against Fulham.
5. Mykhailo Mudryk
Mykhailo Mudryk seems to be finally finding his footing at Chelsea. In only two appearances this preseason, the Ukrainian has looked more comfortable under this Mauricio Pochettino side. He has been not only displaying his electric pace on the wing but is finally having tangible impact in the final third with a screamer goal against Brighton and linking up well with other forwards during the Newcastle game. The Chelsea winger roles are going under the radar for required depth this season and Mudryk will be relied on come the beginning of the season to perform on the flanks. To be at his best, the 22-year-old will need to be consistently starting games at the left wing for the Blues.
