Chelsea in talks to sign international midfielder and want another
Chelsea are reportedly currently negotiating to sign an international midfielder. Although, United States player Tyler Adams was recently relegated with Leeds United. How will he potentially fit into the Chelsea squad?
The Blues are apparently in talks to sign Adams of Leeds with the senior CFC midfield department requiring immediate reinforcements. But this proposed signing is not marquee – Moises Caicedo would be at his valuation – and will surprise some Chelsea fans around the world.
However, Adams is a very good footballer as well as being an international. As he was attached to a relegated club, I would argue that he is underrated. Besides, backup and role players are necessary.
Significant reported developments in Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo chase as transfer saga twists again
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Caicedo’s absence from Brighton & Hove Albion’s Monday training session was a statement. This revelation comes just a day after the Ecuador National Team representative was supposedly not involved for Brighton in their last friendly match versus Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano. This was purportedly due to a desire to leave the Seagulls for west London.
BHAFC claim that the player has a ‘minor hamstring issue’, but that is assertion is disputed. The athlete’s entourage – or friends, family and agents, depending on how you view it – are said to insist that Caicedo is fit and well. The 21-year-old has put in a transfer request and wishes to depart American Express Community Stadium before the Premier League season gets underway.
However, none of this pantomime-type behaviour will sway or influence the Brighton owner at all. I cannot envision Tony Bloom ever bowing to player power or the perceived might of supposed big six English top-flight sides. And that notion is backed by Jacobs, who says that the seaside team do not want to sell and their price would have to be met. A new bid is meant to be imminent.
