Thiago Silva, Centerback: 8/10

Silva’s positioning rescued the Blues several times in the first half, even though he ended up winning 1/4 tackles. His passing was excellent, he made a crucial block and won all two aerial duels he contested in the first half. According to Sofascore, he won 4/5 aerial duels in all and completed 8/9 long balls.

Levi Colwill, Left centerback: 7.5/10

Colwill was average in the first half, as he started the game slowly and admittedly had a difficult time against Mohamed Salah. He did much better in the second half, as he was more alert to danger and made some key interceptions and clearances. His distribution wasn’t great, as he completed just 3/8 long balls, he did create a clear-cut chance for Nicolas Jackson though, creating two chances in all. He won 3/4 duels on the day.

Reece James, Right wingback: 7/10

James played a key role in stretching Liverpool’s defense, and when he got more comfortable, he was spraying passes all over the pitch and causing all sorts of problems for the red side of Merseyside. He created a clear-cut chance and completed 3/9 crosses, which is impressive. He did win an underwhelming 0/3 ground duels.

Enzo Fernandez, Central midfielder: 8.5/10

Fernandez was excellent. His tackling and marking were subpar in the first half, but in the second half, he dictated play and moved the ball extremely well. He completed 10/11 long balls, won 6/10 duels, and completed 2/2 dribbles.
