Chelsea players who impressed against Liverpool

Enzo Fernandez:

When the west Londoners acquired Enzo Fernandez for a staggering fee of £106.8m from Benfica, it was a testament to the club’s confidence in the World Cup winner. While he did not have a lot to show last season, Fernandez began the 2023-24 Premier League campaign on a high. The 22-year-old played a vital role in most of Chelsea’s offensive attempts in the match.

Fernandez did well to link up with Raheem Sterling and Reece James to cause constant trouble to Liverpool’s defense. Right from his first touch to the passes he delivered, watching Fernandez on the ball was a delight. Overall, the Argentine player had a great game and proved to be the key player against Liverpool.

Axel Disasi:

After signing Axel Disasi on a permanent deal from Monaco last season, the club’s fans were keen on witnessing the 25-year-old in action. The French player’s signing was also important considering CFC was going to miss Wesley Fofana, who is ruled out due to injury. In what was his Premier League debut, the 25-year-old seemed to make a mistake early on when Luis Diaz got the better of him and scored the opening goal.

However, Disasi was quick to gain composure and regroup. Not only did he look good for the rest of the game, but he scored the much more important equalizer for the home team. This was an impressive feat considering the Frenchman beat adversity to score the goal. Apart from the Luis Diaz instance, it was a great game by Disasi, who saved the day for the Blues.
