Blues who let the side down against Liverpool

Conor Gallagher:

In the current setup, Conor Gallagher is playing an important role in the middle of the park. However, against Liverpool, he did not seem to be at his best. While there could be an argument that the Englishman was made to play much deeper than he would’ve liked to, there is no denying he did not have the best day at work.

If one closely examines the game, Gallagher was trying hard to succeed. However, he failed as he could not create an impact on the game. In the first half, Gallagher was dispossessed on a few occasions and even delivered some shoddy passes which led to Chelsea losing possession. The club will hope that Gallagher gets back to his best before the next game.

Levi Colwill:

After spending most of his senior career on loan at several clubs, Levi Colwill finally seems to have gotten his chance in Chelsea’s senior side. In an important game against a big club in Liverpool, Colwill was entrusted with a big responsibility. However, the 20-year-old could not make the most of it.

During the first half of the game, Colwill struggled against Mohamed Salah and looked out of place against certain attacks from Liverpool. The Englishman’s ball distribution wasn’t up to the mark either. While he had a better second half and contained Salah on one occasion, more will be expected from him. Considering he is only 20 years old, Colwill has time to improve.
