Centre back: Axel Disasi (France)

The former AS Monaco vice captain marked his debut with an equalizer which proved to be decisive as that was the only goal scored by the Blues all game. He looked comfortable on the ball and showed enough for the fans to believe that they will not miss Wesley Fofana who will out for majority of the season.

Centre back: Thiago Silva (Brazil)

The veteran continued from him he left off last season. Calm, reliable and in control of his defence.

Centre back: Levi Colwill (England)

Colwill yet again came close to scoring his first goal for the Blues but fell short. He did make a few mistakes and looked a bit sluggish at times. But he definitely will do better with that only being the first game of the season.
