Against a team that is most likely going to play a deep block, the Blues need that kind of creativity to muster up goal-scoring opportunities. He seemed like a completely different player last weekend than during his first campaign in blue. The confidence is there. The smile is back. That is Sterling at his best. The Blues‘ main creator in match week two was thrown aside by many CFC fans prior to the campaign. His performance in east London could very well be a glimpse into the kind of player the team’s new No. 7 could be throughout this campaign.

1. Malo Gusto of Chelsea

There was a reason why the west Londoners felt a need to add another right back even with Reece James manning the position. It only took one game, and Pochettino needed Malo Gusto’s services in the starting XI. In his first start in the English top-flight, the Frenchman played a part in 82 minutes, completing nearly 92 percent of his passes.

There was not much that stood out from the display in the other side of London, but that summer tour possesses evidence that there is more to come. He is that seamless fit the side needs in the absence of a player of James’ quality. This is a game where Gusto can display those shot-creating abilities he presented opponents at Lyon. Similar to Caicedo, Luton presents the Frenchman with a chance at that “Welcome to Chelsea” moment that fans have been craving for.
