The Pride of London cover Chelsea injury updates and information. A tentative return date is reported for Romeo Lavia as the Blues midfielder suffers a setback and a spell on the sidelines.
Many issues usually simultaneously arise with up-and-coming players. First of all they must make a proper transition from youth ranks to the first team. Then establish themselves and maintain their respective roles and positions. Lavia was slightly fast tracked in some of those areas over his fledgling career. After making his name well and truly at Southampton, potential suitors arose. Chelsea made their interest chiefly known, and the rest is very recent history.
But, unfortunately, the 19-year-old has not had any chances to lay anchor in midfield in his early Blues life. Hopefully the Belgian will be granted his opportunity to shine in the not too distant future. Although, that time may not come soon enough; the ex-Saints man is unavailable due to an ankle problem at the moment. Sadly talk has emerged stating that the promising new CFC signing won’t feature for about six weeks, until October.
Young Chelsea star currently on loan called into training with senior England National Team
Respected writer Henry Winter of The Times revealed some particularly interesting details surrounding CFC youngster Bashir Humphreys recently. According to Winter, the defender briefly met up with the main England squad and was included in training. The 20-year-old was apparently specifically temporarily drafted into the senior setup for said practice sessions. Along with Humphreys, Lewis Hall, now at Newcastle United, was among the Three Lions roster as well.
Humphreys is labelled an exciting talent; the centreback, who occasionally plays in defensive midfield, impressed with the west Londoners during preseason with the main Blues group. The Chelsea youth product is currently at Swansea City for the 2023/24 campaign.
