Chelsea has had a horrendous start to the season – results-wise – and this has put pressure on them because though they have had the easiest run of games so far of all teams in the Premier League, they have gotten five points in five games, a tally bad enough to leave them in 14th place. Mauricio Pochettino’s men will now enter a run of games that promises to be considerably more difficult than the first five. The Blues faithful will wonder just how many points the home side will pick up over the next weeks. Here are who the Pride of London thinks will get the nod for the Aston Villa game.

Robert Sanchez (Goalkeeper), Chelsea No. 1, Spain

Sanchez had a brilliant game last time out against Bournemouth, making all five saves required to keep a clean sheet. It was an improvement on his shot-stopping up until that point, though his distribution has been very good this season. Sanchez has now gotten his save percentage to 67% from the 55% it was before the trip to Vitality Stadium.

Malo Gusto (Right back) No. 27, France

Gusto has mostly been good when he has played. Some expected that Reece James would have returned from injury, but even if the club captain does return from injury, he’s likely to start getting substitute appearances before starts. Gusto’s tackling and ball-winning have stood out in Chelsea blue, and his ball progression and passing have made him close to the complete package.

Axel Disasi (Right centerback) No. 2, France

Many fans seem to think that Disasi is a member of the back line that can be done without, which is surprising. Disasi has been Chelsea’s most complete centerback this season and has been important to how Pochettino’s men build up. Disasi boasts over 80 completed passes per game, a 91% passing accuracy, an 89% aerial success rate, and a 58% ground duel success rate. His one glaring weakness this season has been long-passing, but Silva has been the only competent long-passer in the back line this season.
