While Palmer hasn’t netted a goal for the Blues yet, his contribution to Broja’s goal was pivotal. His aggressive pressing disrupted Fulham’s defensive play, preventing centre-back Tim Ream from making an easy pass to left-back Antonee Robinson. This forced a play through the middle. Subsequently, Palmer intercepted Ream’s pass and delivered a precisely-timed ball to Broja, allowing him to confidently find the net, marking his first goal since recovering from an ACL injury last December.

Playing alongside Fernandez unlocked Moises Caicedo

Rather than playing as the No.10 as seen in CFC’s last few matches, Enzo Fernandez was paired up with Caicedo in the heart of the middle with Gallagher play a bit higher up. This tactical tweak really elevated the Ecuadorian game which saw his finest performance thus far in a Chelsea kit.

The 21-year-old formed a highly effective trio with Enzo Fernandez, while Conor Gallagher operated just ahead in the No. 10 position. Caicedo’s early days at Chelsea have been closely scrutinized due to the substantial £115 million fee paid to acquire him from Brighton over the summer.

Playing as a deep-lying midfielder, he displayed exceptional skills in disrupting the opposition’s possession and provided a strong sense of security in front of the back four. Furthermore, he exhibited moments of brilliance on the ball, including a memorable pass that played a crucial role in Mudryk’s goal.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo displayed an incredible reaction to Mykhailo Mudryk’s first goal for Chelsea. The Ukrainian forward propelled the Blues to a 1-0 lead against Fulham at Craven Cottage, with Armando Broja extending their lead shortly after. While Mudryk headed to the corner flag to celebrate alongside Colwill and others, cameras captured Enzo and Caicedo embracing each other with radiant smiles at the halfway line. It’s a small detail but it’s great that they have that chemistry and brotherhood.
