Why Chelsea legend Eden Hazard retired from football career at just 32
The Pride of London explain and discuss why Chelsea legend and former Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has retired from his football career at the relatively young age of 32.
What a ‘baller’ this man was at his height. Truly. The way he jinked and tricked his way through defences with balance, beauty and a ridiculously low centre of gravity was a marvel. Not many wingmen can be compared to Hazard when it comes to dribbling – it’s Lionel Messi stuff, really. The ex-Blue triumphed terrifically overall at Stamford Bridge, gaining these honours: Europa League x2, Premier League x2, League Cup, FA Cup. These accolades, along with player of the year, placed the Belgium international as a legitimate CFC icon. Obviously he had a large part to play in the success of that era.
Hazard left Real Madrid early in the past summer after his contract was terminated. Now that he has turned his back on his profession, he says he wants to spend more time with his family. In addition to that, the 32-year-old would also like to seek out new experiences. However, ultimately it seems that injuries were the main reason to stop playing. On his social media accounts, he declared: ‘You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time.’

Onetime Blue Loic Remy has also retired from professional sport. The 36-year-old lifted the EPL title with CFC, but has now entered retirement. His final side was French outfit Brest, but he has now been released. Remy also turned out for Newcastle United whilst in England.
In total, he featured for a whopping 14 separate clubs in his time as an athlete. Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers are also on his CV. The striker spent five seasons in England. Along with the English top-flight, Remy won the League Cup as well.
