3.  Nicolas Jackson

From his very first minutes in a Chelsea shirt during preseason, it became clear that Nicolas Jackson might be a bargain signing. Albeit there were very premature Didier Drogba comparisons, the Senegalese striker looked like the complete package at £32m. However, the preseason hype failed to translate to convincing output early in the season. Jackson exhibited all the attributes of an ideal striker. He was adept at dropping deep, receiving the ball, progressing it and creating space for other forwards in the final third. Yet his finishing in front of goal was dismal to start the season. Jackson stands only behind Erling Haaland in most big chances missed in the Premier League this season and has less than half the amount of goals scored then the Norwegian.

Recently though, the 22-year-old has found some form with two goals in his last two appearances. His work off the ball as well can’t be ignored with his activity in leading the front-line press. Overall, it’s clear from his last outing against Burnley that Jackson’s presence on the pitch makes Chelsea a more threatening team. While he may not end up being Didier Drogba, consistent work on his finishing could establish the Senegalese striker as one of the most crucial acquisitions under the new ownership. Possibly addressing Chelsea’s long standing striker dilemma, Nicolas Jackson has the potential to become a key figure in this Blues side for years to come.
