Chelsea FC are coming off the heels of an extremely frustrating draw against Arsenal last outing. Many Blues supporters will feel that CFC should have come away with all three points especially after being up two goals to nil with only about twenty minutes in the match left. While there is much to be frustrated about regarding the last match, many will also point out the stellar performances displayed by almost everyone wearing a blue shirt.  It seems the stars are finally starting to align for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and with several key injuries, Poch will need to rely on several key players to once again step up and hopefully grab a crucial three points. Let’s take a look at three Blues who must start tomorrow.

Marc Cucurella of Chelsea

Arguably Chelsea’s best player in the match against Arsenal he rendered Bukayo Saka virtually nonexistent. He was determined to lock down one of the most talented wingers in the league and did so with ease. Winning almost every ball and successfully completing passes going forward, Cucurella has looked like a new player since he has been given more play time. With Ben Chilwell’s injury and the ferocity that Cucurella is playing with, he seems an easy selection for left-back against Brentford.

Chelsea will need their defenders to be able to fend off attacks on the wing and be able to win the ball and drive forward. Cucurella is also not afraid to join in on the attack and has shown he is more than capable on a few occasions so far. The Spaniard deserves his spot in the starting line up and has only looked better as each game passes. He has looked to be a solid replacement for Chilwell since his injury and if his current form remains the same or improves will make a strong case for starter or at the very least not to be sold in the next couple transfer windows.

Mykhailo Mudryk

Mudryk looks to be a man on a mission in Chelsea’s past few games. Scoring in both his last Blues and Ukraine games, Mudryk is gathering steam forward in the path to prove he can be the player everyone wants him to be. Whether he meant to score his goal against Arsenal or it was indeed a cross, a goal is a goal, and he seemed to relish every second of his first goal at Stamford Bridge.

Mudryk’s confidence is growing and his gameplay is starting to show it. He looks dangerous going forward and is wanting to dribble at and beat his man when he gets one-on-one. Mudryk is still very young and confidence is key for a bright young player with a big price tag hanging over his head. It’s been made very clear that Pochettino and Mudryk teammates see the potential and the player he could become. More game time and chances will unlock what the young Ukranian can become.

Enzo Fernandez

Enzo Fernandez has been one of, if not the, best player for CFC so far this season. He is seeming to be worth every penny spent on him. Acting as the engine in the middle of the pitch driving everything forward, Enzo is only just starting to show what he can do. He’s shown both individual and team brilliance making incredible passes and showing he can be a leader in this team as well. Much of Chelsea’s build up and attacking play comes from Enzo and he is key for Chels‘ to continue their impressive attacking capabilities. He should be the first name on the team sheet for the foreseeable future.
