Welcome to the inaugural edition of Pride of London’s Player of the Month. In a manner akin to the prestigious Premier League Player of the Month award, we have meticulously scrutinized Chelsea’s roster to select our standout performer for October.

A demanding fixture list, featuring three riveting London derbies against Fulham, Arsenal, and Brentford, along with a trip to Burnley’s Turf Moor, provided the backdrop for an exciting month of football. The CFC squad exhibited commendable prowess on the field, with manager Mauricio Pochettino’s tactical blueprint steadily coming to life. Numerous players made substantial contributions and emerged as contenders for this accolade.

Among the notable mentions, the versatile Marc Cucurella gallantly assumed the responsibilities of both left-back and right-back positions when called upon. Connor Gallagher, a tireless dynamo in the midfield, exerted his influence across the pitch. Raheem Sterling’s electrifying performances against Burnley and Arsenal left spectators in awe. However, it is the 21-year-old prodigy, Cole Palmer, who has truly shone in all the fixtures and claimed the title of PoL’s Player of the Month.

Palmer’s impressive month featured a goal and an assist in the resounding 4-1 victory over Burnley, a crucial goal in the North London Derby against Arsenal, and a standout display against Fulham. Throughout his appearances, he exhibited exceptional composure on the ball, consistently making the right decisions, delivering incisive passes, showcasing a deft first touch, and excelling in the No.10 role. Despite being a recent addition to the squad, the ex-Citizen seamlessly integrated himself into the team, emerging as the linchpin of CFC’s attack. In all four Premier League encounters, he shone as the brightest spark in the team, even in the 2-0 loss to Brentford, where he crafted two gilt-edged chances that, unfortunately, went unconverted.
