Chelsea 2-0 Blackburn: Blues player ratings
By Abdul Abdullahi
Chelsea hosted Blackburn Rovers at Stamford Bridge for a Carabao Cup forth round tie Wednesday evening. The Blues came out victorious in a 2-0 win with goals from Benoit Badiashile in the first half, and Raheem Sterling in the second half. Here are The Pride of London’s player ratings as CFC advance to the next round of the league cup.
Robert Sanchez: 6.5/10
It was a quiet evening for the Spanish keeper as Blackburn hardly tested the Chelsea No.1. In fact, Blackburn had only one attempt on goal, and it was in the final minute of the game. Despite still looking shaky at times when playing out from the back, it’s another clean sheet for the 25-year-old.
Reece James (C): 7.5/10
The Chelsea skipper gets his first start since the opening Premier League matchday against Liverpool last August. A good shift in the tank for the Cobham graduate as the 23-year-old looks forward to becoming a regular starter once again. He looked good defensively, and of course, adding that extra necessary threat going forward with his deadly crosses and long-range efforts, it’s good to have James back.
Axel Disasi: 7/10
The 25-year-old completed the most passes in the match with 126, with 95 percent of them being successful. Disasi also created two chances with his brilliant passes according to Fotmob. The Frenchman showed that there are times where a lapse of concentration gets the best out of him, as he got caught out at one point, gifting the Blackburn attacker a one-on-one opportunity against Sanchez. However, he was off the hook due to Leonard missing the golden opportunity to equalize.
