There has been a positive update for Chelsea regarding young midfielder Romeo Lavia. Elsewhere in the Blues sphere, Nicolas Jackson’s dream is realised.
Lavia may have become slightly forgotten before he even gets going at Chelsea. But the 19-year-old is highly thought of at Stamford Bridge and is expected to make an impact in the CFC team. I’m unsure whether he’ll be able to replace Enzo Fernandez or Moises Caicedo in Mauricio Pochettino’s lineup. Though, they are great ‘problems’ to have.
The former Southampton man reportedly suffered a recent injury setback, but good news has emerged. The midfielder could return for early December.
Nicolas Jackson hits a rather fortunate Chelsea hat-trick – but who cares?!
OK, maybe footballing purists and the more plugged in Chelsea fans will point out that Jackson remains massively raw. As finished Premier League products are concerned, he still wastes many glaring chances in front of goal. Nevertheless, bagging a trio of goals – irrespective of two being awkwardly tapped away and the last one looking a bit odd – might perhaps give the player the confidence he needs.
I am unconvinced that Jackson will ever make it as the main striker at Stamford Bridge. The role is a tall order. A big ask. A tough task for anyone, indeed. Being the top man at CFC requires an almost generational skill set. However, it is early days in his Blues career.
But what did Jackson say about his three finishes after the game? Well, let’s see. First of all, the Senegal international was naturally delighted. He said he has been dreaming of this moment since he was a youth: scoring a maiden EPL hat-trick. In addition to that, the 22-year-old declared the match ‘intense’, but that those matches are an element as to why he plays the sport. Jackson wants the outfit’s good work to continue.
