Trevoh Chalobah

It feels like Trevoh Chalobah has been hard done by the Blues hierarchy. After breaking into the team during Thomas Tuchel’s tenure at the club, the Cobham product  has served as a more than solid defender among the Blues ranks for the past 2 seasons. However, during the past summer window the Blues were reportedly open to selling Chalobah despite his willingness to stay and fight for his place. The purchase of Monaco defender Axel Disasi during the summer,  who plays in a similar role to the 24-year-old confirmed this intention.

Chalobah remained after the closure of the summer window, rejecting several offers to depart from Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately, injury setbacks have prevented him from proving his worth like fellow Cobham graduate Conor Gallagher, a player whose potential sale was also a big topic of discussion during the summer.  Even if Chalobah is to return before the end of the year, he will be trying to settle into a team and compete with 4 other defenders in Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.  A move away from Stamford Bridge by January makes sense for the development of his career.  It has already been reported by Fabrizio Romano that both Chelsea and Chalobah are set on securing his departure next year. Numerous high profile clubs including Bayern Munich are keen on a move for the defender.
