The Pride of London assess the latest fitness news reported on injured Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, along with a possible Blues return date for the Frenchman.

As an upcoming PoL article comprehensive article outlines, over the last few years Chelsea Football Club has gone from footballing leaders, to jokes, to underdogs, to a real force again. Well, it looks as though a combination of Mauricio Pochettino, the potential of some young signing gems, ownership willing to inject the required funds and a loyal fan base will eventually mesh.

And Blues supporters have been through a lot since the departure of Roman Abramovich. I wouldn’t expect too much for a year or too though. European qualification is probably a bit out of reach, certainly the Champions League. But there are further reasons for the CFC faithful to be optimistic as well. Injured personnel are returning – some more crucial than others.

When will Christopher Nkunku make his Chelsea debut?

I see Christopher Nkunku as Stamford Bridge’s missing puzzle piece of sorts. I wouldn’t bet my house on it – the Mrs would kick me out if I did that, anyway – yet I do fully envisage big things from the Frenchman in the second striker role. Fitting him into the team is the only problem at present – and what a great issue that is! Maybe Nkunku shall become the main striker in order to retain the presence of Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer?

Now close to fitness, the former RB Leipzig man wants to play versus Newcastle United on November 25. Although, Pochettino and and his medical staff might apparently prefer to wait to test the 26-year-old until the Brighton & Hove Albion match on December 3. Rushing back the France international is unwise, so I’m backing the prudent approach.
