Thiago Silva

Another one who, if healthy, should be starting. While we may be starting to witness the very slow decline of Silva, at age 39, it’s still incredibly impressive he is able to do what he does on the pitch. He is clearly a leader, he is still tough and strong in defense and is a key member of the center back pairing. His time at Chelsea may be waning to a close, but it is important we still get the best out of him while we still can.

There are other CBs to take into account and plenty of great ones too. If all of them are on their day though, Silva is clear of his competition. His presence on the field is almost as valuable as his play and until he shows true signs of a decline and remains healthy, he should be a firm starter.
