Premier League action resumes this weekend as the International break comes to a close. Multiple players picked up serious injuries on duty, luckily Chelsea have survived and returned injury-free.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues have looked much more promising lately and are unbeaten this month after convincing victories against Blackburn and Tottenham which was followed by an unlucky draw against Manchester City at the Bridge. The west Londoners will now travel to St. James Park to face Newcastle United.

light. Hot. Chelsea went from leaders to jokes to underdogs and are now a force again

The Magpies on the other hand have struggled over the last two games with a surprising 2-0 defeat against Bournemouth and another 2-0 defeat at the Signal Iduna Park which took them to the bottom of their group. These results have put Eddie Howe in a compromising situation as the midweek UCL fixture against PSG is now a must win for them.

Chelsea have got to take advantage of their situation and  bag all three points. The top four is still a very realistic target and to ensure that the 10 point gap doesn’t widen, the Blues simply cannot afford any slip ups.

Predicted Chelsea XI (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper: Robert Sanchez (Spain)

The Spaniard’s stop stopping ability was crucial on the day as he made some decisive saves yet again which helped salvaging a draw against City. Robert Sanchez has made 93 short passes (passes between five and 15 yards) for Chelsea this season and completed 92 passes (98.9% completion rate) which means that his only evident weakness is his long range passing. If he could work on that part of his game, the club could definitely rely on him as their no.1 in the future.
