How injured Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana upset a Brighton star
The Pride of London comment following a minor but avoidable disturbance at Stamford Bridge. Why did injured Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana upset a Brighton & Hove Albion player? Meanwhile PoL take a look at the Blues’ upcoming FA Cup and Football League Cup fixtures.
Passion runs high in football. We’ve all heard and experienced that old adage from the Sunday league to the Premier League. Sometimes the English top-flight feels like a powder keg – and we all get off on the drama and intensity, too. Let’s be honest, just like a reality show – where you would never find me – animation and overemphasised emotion is entertaining. Disclaimer: neutrals may benefit more from match commotion; if you support the side which is imploding, good luck with your stress levels and blood pressure.
Sunday’s Chelsea game versus Brighton wasn’t exactly vitriolic, but it had its manic and ardently heated moments. Wesley Fofana, currently sidelined after surgery due to injuring his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), was involved in a silly yet nonetheless vehement altercation with Seagulls playmaker Adam Lallana. The former Liverpool man took umbrage with the Frenchman and teammate Benoit Badiashile’s raucous celebrations at full-time during the Brighton clash. According to the Express, Fofana celebrated in the Englishman’s face, inking his would-be opponent by jumping on Badiashile’s back. Lallana then attempted to remove the Ex-Leicester City man before others intervened in the melee.
