It wasn’t pretty but Chelsea were able to leave Copenhagen with a victory and a slender one goal advantage. Enzo Maresca is likely pleased with this result given how heavily he rotated the squad but he must also be ruing the chance to end the Danish side’s hopes in the first leg.
Instead he and the Blues have left the door open for a shock result at Stamford Bridge in a week’s time and he will have to play a strong XI to keep that from happening. The first leg was a dull affair that saw little action until the second half as Copenhagen allowed Chelsea to have tons of pointless possession as the Danish side wanted to save their best for the all-important second leg.
That second leg also comes after a must-win against Leicester City where the Blues absolutly must have to capture all three points and hopefully pad their goal difference. It is followed shortly after with a massive London Derby against Arsenal who the Blues have not beaten since 2021.
After this less than ideal result, here are 3 things we learned that we can take into future Chelsea matches.
