3. Injury Updates and Player Availability
Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke, Marc Guiu, and Aaron Anselmino remain unavailable. Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia has returned to training but is not yet match-fit.
There is some positive news, as long-term absentee Wesley Fofana is now available for selection. Benoît Badiashile, who made his return to the starting lineup on Thursday after being sidelined since December, is also fit, despite being substituted at halftime for fitness management.
Malo Gusto was forced off with an injury in the first half against Copenhagen, but Maresca has reassured that there are no concerns for the Frenchman, and he could feature on Sunday.
Gusto’s early exit saw Marc Cucurella introduced earlier than planned, while Moisés Caicedo played the first half. Both players have been crucial for Chelsea this season, and any further injuries could seriously impact the team’s stability.
