5. Cole Palmer Disappoints

For yet another match, Cole Palmer struggled to make an impact. In the second half, he had a golden opportunity to get on the scoresheet after Emiliano Martínez slipped, but his shot was blocked by Villa’s defense.

There was also a moment where he failed to pick out Christopher Nkunku with a simple pass in a promising position. He looked visibly frustrated with his teammate after the poor pass and the body language has been less than ideal from the young Englishman.

While Palmer wasn’t the only player who underperformed, someone of his talent is expected to influence the game more, regardless of the circumstances. Instead of showing frustration, fans would like to see him push harder and take responsibility in difficult moments.
