AC Milan have been in contact with Chelsea over the possibility of signing Joao Felix. The Portugal international only re-joined in the summer for £42m.
Chelsea have had a good season so far. They currently sit fifth place in the table, yet if they win their game today, they will climb back up to fourth in the Premier League table.
In the last few weeks, the Blues have let their form drop. Therefore, it is within their best interest to get some results on the board again. Otherwise, their progress at the beginning of the season under Enzo Maresca might mean less than it could have.
The game tonight will be played at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea host Wolves in the Premier League.
AC Milan make contact with Chelsea to sign £42m striker
According to a report from Calcio Mercato, AC Milan have already made contact with Chelsea to sign João Félix on a loan deal until the end of the season (hoping to extend for a further year afterwards). The Italian giants would like to include a buying option at the end of his loan, with the rumoured fee being around £30m.
Therefore, Chelsea would be losing money. Not only would they be losing money on Félix but they would also have to wait for a year and a half for the honour of doing so.
Call me a pessimist but this deal doesn't make too much sense. Therefore, Chelsea should negotiate here. While they should remain fair to AC Milan who are showing an interest, it would be much more beneficial if Chelsea could loan him until the end of the season, then include a buying clause.
Loaning him for a season and a half just doesn't make sense to me.
But then again, neither did Chelsea signing him in the first place. He has only started three Premier League games all season. So, Chelsea made this situation for themselves.
