Viktor Gyokeres has it all. The goals. The celebration. The chaotic playing style which makes him must-watch television. And the ability to make something out of almost nothing on his own. After scoring 53 goals in 51 games this season, it should come as no surprise that the Swede is being linked with pretty much every top club in Europe right now. Chelsea are amongst them.

Chelsea need a striker right now. There is no doubt about that. They had decided to back Nicolas Jackson this season but he has failed to meet expectations. One could argue that he has taken a step back since the previous campaign.

Jackson has scored 29 goals over his two seasons with Chelsea. Gyokeres has scored 96 times for Sporting CP over that same period of time and inspired them to two league titles.

Many Chelsea fans are dreaming of having Gyokeres in their starting lineup next season. And they have been told what kind of a transfer fee it would take to make that a reality.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Gyokeres will surely leave Sporting CP this summer with a fee already agreed. A package worth around €65 million can be enough to get the green light from the Portuguese club as agreed with the striker months ago.

That has to be considered a bargain for a player with Gyokeres' numbers. One might argue that they have come in Portugal but then, Chelsea shelled out almost double that to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

Also, it is not just at the club level that Gyokeres can't stop scoring. In 2024, he scored 10 goals in 7 appearances for Sweden.

So, this is a striker at the absolute peak of his powers. And at 26 years of age, he has plenty left in the tank. Chelsea must try to make it happen.
