Chelsea have been one of the busiest clubs this summer, having already signed plenty of new faces, including Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens. Jorrel Hato is also set to undergo a medical and complete his £37m switch from Ajax, while talks for Xavi Simons are believed to be moving in the right direction. There have been some departures as well. Noni Madueke, Djordje Petrovic, Joao Felix and more have left Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are currently working on finalising a deal to sign Simons from RB Leipzig, but that is not the only move they are pursuing. They are still interested in Alejandro Garnacho, whom they explored trying to sign back in January.
Garnacho is one of several players on Man Utd's transfer list, as the club looks to say goodbye to quite a few. Chelsea being a long-term suitors have been heavily linked with a move for the winger in recent months.
Having already signed Gittens and closing in on a move for Simons, most fans felt that the door was closed on any possibility of a deal to sign Garnacho. But as it turns out, that is not the case.
Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea takes huge transfer twist
According to The Telegraph, after carrying out a series of background checks, Chelsea have no concerns over the character of Garnacho. The Blues are expected to make an offer for the Argentine before the summer transfer window closes.
The report claims that Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League. He has also been linked with Aston Villa but has made Chelsea his first choice.
Chelsea might have to part with some players if they want to sign Garnacho and other targets like Simons. However, they do aim to do that this summer, with names like Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, and Armando Broja being linked with moves away. The Blues can raise money and make room for new signings through these potential transfer exits.
