With the winter transfer window well underway, clubs have been actively trying to bolster their squads for the second half of the season. Chelsea are no exception as they have been linked with several players this month. Among them, they are currently believed to be in negotiations over a move for Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, and the French defender has given his green light for the switch to Stamford Bridge.
Just like incomings, outgoings are also the part of the process. In this regard, Chelsea do have some players that they might part with this winter, such as Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi, Filip Jorgensen and David Datro Fofana.
Disasi was unable to secure a move elsewhere last summer after spending the second half of the previous season on loan at Aston Villa. However, it seems like he might finally have somewhere to go this time around, after spending half the campaign without any football.
AS Roma and Lyon are two clubs that have enquired about signing Disasi. As reported by The Chelsea Chronicle, Ben Jacobs said on a live stream on X:
"You have Axel Disasi, a centre-back at Chelsea, who is available, and Saudi clubs plus Roma and Lyon have made inquiries."
AS Roma and Lyon open talks to sign €45m Chelsea player
Disasi joined Chelsea for around €45m from AS Monaco in the summer of 2023, and he had a decent season under Mauricio Pochettino. However, it soon became clear that he would not be part of Enzo Maresca's plans.
The 27-year-old Frenchman's career at Chelsea has been fading away because he hasn't featured since last season, though he has appeared for the club's Under-21 side in an attempt to gain some match fitness. It would be great if Disasi found himself a new team this month, given the Blues are also looking to offload him.
This would be a win-win situation for both parties. So, let's hope that the long overdue Disasi does happen this winter.
