Chelsea have already been involved in transfer business with Borussia Dortmund this summer. They had tried to bring in Jamie Gittens before the Club World Cup but despite making multiple offers, they were not able to agree on a deal in time. The Blues did end up signing him eventually for a £52 million fee.
It remains to be seen how things turn out for Gittens. If rumours are accurate, then Chelsea might end up bringing in Alejandro Garnacho as well, and there could be some real competition on the left flank between those two.
On the other hand, it looks like Borussia Dortmund have set their eyes on multiple Chelsea players at once. Of course, they had Carney Chukwuemeka on loan last season and want him back this time, but he is not the only one.
As reported by The Standard, Borussia Dortmund are in talks to sign four Chelsea players. According to reports in France, Chukwuemeka will be the next to head for the exit door. He is set to rejoin the Bundesliga club in a permanent £22 million deal. On the other hand, they are also said to be interested in Tyrique George, Axel Disasi, and Renato Veiga, with discussions ongoing between the two teams.
Borussia Dortmund in talks to sign four Chelsea players
Let's be honest, if four Chelsea players ended up joining Borussia Dortmund in the same window, it would be remarkable. Do not expect it to happen, but then again, never say never in football.
All of those are talented players. But at least two of them do not seem to have any role available right now. In this case, we are talking about Chukwuemeka and Disasi.
As for Veiga, he could be a contributor for sure. He is capable of playing at left-back and centre-back. But then, Chelsea have signed Jorrel Hato. And there is the opportunity to make a transfer profit by moving the Portuguese international. He was signed for around £12 million last summer but it could take around £35 million to sign him this time around after an excellent spell at Juventus.
The talks about George's potential exit have come out of almost nowhere. But it looks like the winger is keen to get some playing time and is considering an exit.
