Chelsea are on the back of two poor results in the Premier League, losing to Arsenal and then only drawing with Hull City. The consensus is that the Blues have one of the best attacks in the division. However, their defence leaves a lot to be desired.

As for Brentford, they are seventh in the Premier League. This is just one place behind Chelsea. The Bees are undefeated this season, having won three and drawn three of their games so far in all competitions. It must be noted that two of those victories were against lower-league opposition in the EFL Cup.

Chelsea have a positive record in their last five games against Brentford. However, it must be noted that Brentford have still defeated Chelsea three times in the Premier League since they returned to the division in 2021.

Despite being west London rivals, Chelsea and Brentford have met infrequently over the course of their histories. This is due to the Bees more often than not competing in the lower divisions. They had not been in the top flight since 1947, before their promotion from the Championship five years ago.

The last time the two sides met, it was a comfortable win for Chelsea thanks to Pedro and Palmer. They now make up one of the best front threes in the Premier League alongside Morgan Rogers. The Bees' defence will need to be resolute to keep them out. However, Brentford will fancy their chances against Chelsea's back line right now.

Chelsea would have defeated Brentford on both occasions last season, but for Fábio Carvalho's added-time equaliser at the Brentford Community Stadium. Carvalho is not the only Bees player that Chelsea need to worry about. Kevin Schade, who also scored in that fixture, has also been in form this campaign.
