Chelsea are back in Premier League action on Friday night when they make the short trip to face Brentford in a West London derby. The Blues made a strong start to the league season, but they have since lost to Arsenal and drawn with newly promoted Hull City, and they now go into this derby feeling as though they need to get back to winning ways quickly.
In the last couple of seasons, a bad result or two has been enough to rock Chelsea, and it will be interesting to see how Xabi Alonso's men respond to a little adversity, even this early in the season.
Brentford have just one point less than Chelsea at this stage, and they come into this one on the back of a Carabao Cup win over Reading and three straight draws.
Ahead of Friday night's game, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both teams.
Mathias Jensen - Out
Jensen is not expected back until next month. Keith Andrews said last week: "He's doing well, but he won't be involved tomorrow. Realistically, won't be involved next weekend, I don't think, but we'll see how he goes. But yeah, certainly not for tomorrow."
Josh DaSilva - Out
DaSilva has been ruled out until after the international break with a hamstring issue. Andrews confirmed: "That’ll knock Josh out until the international break. It’s nothing too serious, but it’s obviously disappointing for him, we're disappointed, as he’s making his way back to that type of level, intensity and the performance levels he needs to get to. That takes a little bit of time from where he’s been and the time out he’s had, but we’ll keep going and keep pushing Josh to get back to that level.'"
Antoni Milambo - Out
Milambo has a knee injury, but his recovery is going well and he is expected back after the break.
Nathan Collins - Out
Collins has a calf issue that will keep him out until after the break.
Sepp van den Berg - Out
Van den Berg is another who should return after the break. Andrews has said: "He’s in a good place to come back after the international break. That’s realistic."
Kaye Furo - Out
Furo has had to have a surgery that will keep him out for some time. Andrews has confirmed: "Kaye has picked up an injury in the last few days in training. Unfortunately for him, he’s had to have an operation this morning. That’s really frustrating for him. I would’ve started him vs Reading because I felt he deserved it... I'm not sure how long he’s going to be out for."
Marco Palestra - Doubt
Alonso said last week: "We hope they can be for Brentford, but we'll see." We haven't had an update since then, so Palestra will go down as a doubt.
Emmanuel Emegha - Doubt
The same update was issued of Emegha.
Jordan Henderson - Doubt
It was also applied to Henderson, who is hoping to return from his wrist injury against his last club.
Moises Caicedo - Doubt
It's the same story for Caicedo. Alonso said on Thursday: "He is getting close. Tomorrow we will make a decision."
Joao Pedro - Doubt
Alonso has kept his cards close to his chest, saying: "It is a possibility [that he could play tomorrow]."
