Charlton Athletic vs Chelsea match preview
Chelsea are now back on top of the Women's Super League table, so will they stay there between now and May? Last Sunday, the Blues fought back from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace 3-1, courtesy of Melvine Malard's brace at Gander Green Lane, before Sandy Baltimore converted a late spot-kick.
Sonia Bompastor's side have now won six successive WSL games, since a draw with Aston Villa on the opening weekend. After Manchester City slipped up for the first time in last weekend's Manchester derby, the pair are now level at the top on 19 points; the duo meet in a fortnight.
Then, on Wednesday night, Chelsea picked up three points in the Champions League, beating Roma 2-0, with Ellie Carpenter and then Kadeisha Buchanan on target during the second half at Plough Lane.
Overall, everything is going right for Bompastor's team right now, so it would be a surprise for the ages if they were not victorious again here.
As for Charlton Athletic, they are back in the top division for the first time since 2007/08, following a penalty shootout victory over Leicester City in May's play-off. However, fair to say Karen Hills' side have struggled with the step-up. Last weekend, the Addicks were beaten 1-0 by Birmingham at St Andrew's, the only goal coming mid-way through the second half.
This means that, seven matches into this season, Charlton remain pointless, scoring just three goals and conceding 19. Their next two games are against the two sides directly above them, namely Crystal Palace and West Ham, but a return to WSL2 does feel inevitable. Thus, it is simply a question of how many goals will Chelsea score at the Valley on Sunday.
Charlton Athletic team news
Karen Hills made nine changes for the mid-week League Cup defeat to West Ham, Cassandra Korhonen and Katie Jayne Lockwood the only players to start both, that competition very much not Charlton's priority. Centre-back Elisha N'Dow is out, after picking up an injury against Birmingham last Sunday, so Lucia Lobato is expected to come into defence.
Charlotte Newsham, Hawa Cissoko, Linda Boama and Paula Partido are all also sidelined.
Chelsea team news

There is still no Naomi Girma due to a calf injury, while Sonia Bompastor confirmed on Wednesday that midfielder Lexi Potter "picked up a knock on her knee" against Roma, making her a doubt.
In better news, Erin Cuthbert started for the first time this season due to a knee injury in mid-week, while Sjoeke Nüsken, Kiera Walsh and last Sunday's scorer of a brace Melvine Malard could return to the XI.
Predicted Line-ups
- Charlton Athletic predicted lineup: Whitehouse; Neville, Lobato, Skeels, Waldie, Mason; Korhonen, Flannery, van Egmond, Hutton; Lockwood.
- Chelsea predicted lineup: Hampton; Carpenter, Bronze, Buchanan, McCabe; Walsh, Nüsken, Kaptein; James, Thompson, Malard.
- Score prediction: Charlton Athletic 0-5 Chelsea.
