Marc Cucurella to the rescue once again

One of the most important players in the Chelsea side  started his career as one of the most maligned signings in recent history. Mark cuckoo has gone from a liability in defense to a vital piece of the Chelsea machine and has been one of the team’s best players.

In addition to being one of the better players on the pitch today, Cucurella saved Chelsea with a precision strike in the 60th minute that proved to be the difference in the match. It was a long range hit that looked very similar to Reece James’s strike earlier this week and it’s encouraging to see defenders and defensive midfielders pitch in with goals.

There are matches when Cucurella looks lost and others where he looks world class and today’s match was the latter as he bossed the left side and created several attacks for Chelsea. He had several key clearances and recoveries to shut down Leicester’s hopes for an equalizer and of course came up with the most important moment of the match.

It would be nice to give him a day off one of these matches but he might be the second name written on every team sheet after Cole Palmer. What a turnaround for the Spanish star who has become so vital for the Blues.
