2. Key Players Delivering Standout Performances

On paper, a 1-0 home win against a side sitting 19th in the table does not look convincing. The same could be said about the overall performance on the pitch. However, that should not take away from the fact that several players were outstanding.

In midfield, Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández were once again fantastic. No player won more tackles than Caicedo, who also topped the list for recoveries made by an outfield player. Chelsea’s record signing won 10 of his 11 ground duels, more than any other player on the field, and was also the most fouled player.

Meanwhile, Fernández had the most touches on the ball, created the most chances (six), and provided the assist for Cucurella’s goal. He also led the match in accurate crosses and final third passes (16), with Caicedo closely following (14).

Up front, Pedro Neto was electric. His pressing and relentless energy lifted the crowd as he ran non-stop. At the back, Marc Cucurella was exceptional, not only scoring the winner but also delivering a solid defensive display that the home fans truly appreciated.
