Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal: Pedro Neto shines through despite stalemate
Moisés Caicedo: 7.5/10
Caicedo was commendable both in and out of possession, completing 95% of his passes while attempting eight long passes (completing 6). He blocked two shots, with no player blocking more. His solidity was key to Chelsea's draw.
Romeo Lavia: 6/10
Lavia’s passing was solid, albeit safe, but he struggled defensively, winning just 1/4 ground duels. His night was cut short by injury.
Noni Madueke: 7/10
Madueke didn’t do much creatively, but his dribbling was good—this has always been his strength. His ability to create space with his dribbling should lead to higher chance creation numbers, but that’s consistently not the case. His shooting was poor, though, as he took four shots, none of which were on target.
Cole Palmer: 6/10
Palmer was lackluster, poor in almost every facet of the game. His performance stood in stark contrast to Martin Ødegaard’s, who created four chances, two of which were big chances. Palmer created just one chance, completed only 1/4 dribbles, and lost 6/9 ground duels. He was disappointing, and fans will notice performances like this against quality opponents.
Pedro Neto: 8.5/10
Neto was Chelsea’s most threatening player, which might say as much about the team as it does about the Portugal international. Neto was excellent in his own right, creating Chelsea’s only big chance of the game and scoring the goal that earned the point. His shooting wasn't great overall, though, as two of his three shots were blocked.
Nicolas Jackson: 6.5/10
Jackson didn’t have a great game, but that’s not surprising given the difficulty strikers face against Arsenal’s center-backs. He tried to hold up play and get into goal-scoring positions but only managed two shots.
