Substitutions and Manager
Pedro Neto (52’): 7.5/10
Neto had a solid performance, retaining possession in the final third and scoring an exquisite finish to equalize. His energy and direct runs at the West Ham defense helped turn the match in favor of the Blues.
Marc Guiu (52’): 5/10
Guiu was largely inconsequential. He contested a few duels but didn’t contribute much otherwise. Looked to be injured in second half stoppage time but was able to walk it off and continue.
Malo Gusto (61’): 5/10
Gusto’s distribution was decent when he came on, but he didn’t make an impact in either third during his 30 minutes on the pitch.
Christopher Nkunku (61’): 5/10
Nkunku faced the same issue as Jackson — a trio of strong, physical center-backs. He wasn’t able to make much of an impact.
Trevoh Chalobah (90’): N/A
Chalobah did as expected in his brief appearance, coming on in the 90th minute.
Enzo Maresca: 7/10
Maresca’s substitutions and lineup changes played a key role in securing the win, particularly his decision to bring on Filip Jorgensen, who may be better suited to his preferred style of play than Robert Sanchez. The decision to bring on Neto turned the match in favor of Chelsea and his choice to take off Reece James, who was on a yellow card, also proved to be a smart move.
